MESSAGE FROM STEW
THE FUTURE OF KIWANIS
When I joined Kiwanis 20 years ago, like so many others, it was for all local reasons. Over time, I saw the global reach of Kiwanis and fell in love with the organization which led me to the presidency of my club, secretary, Lt. Governor and ultimately governor of the MN-DAK District. If there is one thing I have learned over the years in my many leadership positions, both in higher education and Kiwanis it is this, “Change happens when the pain of change is LESS than the pain of staying the same.”
Clearly, Kiwanis must change to keep up with the changes we see in the world around us. The next decade for Kiwanis will be both challenging and exciting. We have the ability and talents to move our organization from good to great. However, with the world changing at such a fast pace we must find ways to be proactive rather than reactive.
It would be my great honor to work with others in Kiwanis to grow our organization and make sure that the changes we make are the right changes. I have been fortunate to serve on a number of KI committees in recent years. If selected, I promise to do all I can to help improve the greatest service organization in the world…KIWANIS!
